Following our work on the large gym space in Fareham, we’ve completed the fit-out of a three storey Snap Fitness 24/7  at Whitstable.

This was an extensive refit of a former manufacturing space on an industrial estate off Thanet Way, east of Whitstable. Our job was to take the fresh and funky Snap Fitness 24/7 corporate look and apply it to this metallic framework.

Work began in May this year with a projected turnaround of three months. We handed the finished gym in August, ahead of time, and ready for the franchisee to start recruiting members.

We started with a relatively open plan space, taking down existing stud walls and clearing the floors for a reconfiguration that suited Snap’s framework.

These pictures show the early work taking place on the ground floor, as we built the frames for the changing room, toilets, offices and storage spaces. The ceiling boards and electrical work were put in place.

It’s part of the BHR philosophy to ensure all we do is professionally completed to the best of our contractors’ capabilities – and we select our contractors for their excellence!

As time progressed, walls were completed, ceilings painted and the floors laid.

The corporate colours and designs were applied and the place began to take shape. The franchisees were excited to see their gym space coming together, and that we were adhering to the schedule.

The accessible shower room, changing areas and toilets all looked great as they reached completion.

The first floor space benefits from lots of natural light, and in keeping with Snap’s preferred practice, we kept the high ceilings, and sprayed them black. Then we ran great LED strips through them to match the exceptional lighting design throughout the rest of the floor.

These exterior shots show our preparations to install the air con and ventilation outlets. Clean-cut channels drilled through the brickwork, should have crisp edges that give an attractive finish.

In the final stages, paintwork and flooring is in place, and a few items are still wrapped in the their protective film. The next stage was to work through any snagging that needed taking care of, and clean everything down ready for the equipment to be delivered and installed.

And the finished result? The video at the top of the page shows the finished gym in all its glory – freshly open and waiting for clients to join.
